Scanning Services

Brainet analyzes data from functional MRI scans to produce statistical reports on brain functioning.  The Brainet analysis focuses on eleven brain networks.  Brainet provides clients with statistical facts, not opinions.

For Lawyers

Brainet can identify whether the client’s brain function is statistically different from the brain of a healthy normal. Pathology in the brain (where present) is thus statistically identified.  The Brainet report can be reviewed by a neurologist or other expert in order to provide an expert opinion on whether the statistical differences in the client’s brain are consistent with an event such as traumatic brain injury, or a condition such as chronic pain disorder.

For Employers

An employer may request a BASELINE REPORT (see above).  This may be useful for both Employers and Employees when the employment activities might lead to a concussion eg. contact sports.

Compare Brain activity in Normal vs. Patient

Resting State fMRI of Sensorimotor Network

The coloured regions depict a brain network where there are synchronized functional connections among the neurons. Within the dark red or the dark blue regions, neural activity is strongly correlated. In addition, activity in the dark red regions is negatively correlated with activity in the dark blue regions, meaning that when the red regions are active, the blue regions are not active and vice versa. The other colours represent regions that are more weakly correlated but still part of the network.

For Individuals

A BASELINE REPORT – This is requested by people interested in establishing the health of their brain networks prior to engaging in a particular employment or sport.

A BRAIN STATUS REPORT – This is requested by people who have suffered a brain injury (such as in an accident or as the result of a stroke) or have a concern about cognitive decline (eg early Alzheimer’s).

For Surgeons

Neuronavigation

Brainet provides strategic guidance to neurosurgeons who might otherwise remove regions of the brain fundamental to full network functionality. Each of the eleven networks for the subject of interest can be exported separately as DICOM files ready to be imported in any DICOM viewer or neuro-navigation system for neurosurgical guidance.
